All the Rules and Regulations and the Safety Code shall be applicable to Youth Championship Contests, adopted by this Association,shall be obligatory and binding all the sanctioned contests and shall prevail over local rules and regulations.
DURATION OF ROUNDS :
All the APBA Youth C hampionship Contests must be scheduled for 1 0 rounds duration. Each round shall be of three (3) minutes duration with a one (1) minute intermission between rounds.
AGE LIMIT:
In order to protect the safety of the youth boxers,all youth boxers must be at least 18-22 years of age and possess a current ID Card,along with a birth certificate,in order to compete in a youth professional boxing championship contest.
HEALTH INSURANCE:
Each youth boxer shall be covered by health insurance that provides medical coverage for any injuries sustained in the boxing event. A certificate of health insurance must be provided to the local commission prior to the contest.
WEIGHT DIVISIONS
All standard WBE/USBC/APBA weight divisions with the same weight limits for each division.
REQUIREMENTS:
(A) Ten, with the boxer having at least an 85% win ratio over qualified opponents who had a record of 50% or better. In the ten contests, at least two have to be eight round contests;
(B) Olympic medal winners with five winning contests over qualified opponents who had a record of 50% or better.
(C) Amateur champions with extensive amateur careers with five winning contests over qualified opponents who had a record of 50% or better.
(D) The Youth Championships Committee has the authority to make exceptions as to the eligibility of the contests as relates to their records.
RATINGS:
The youth champion will be eligible rated in the top ten (10).
TITLE DEFEND:
E ach youth champion shall must defend his title at intervals of no more than six (6) months, counted from the date he obtained the title. Otherwise the youth champion shall automatically lose recognition as Youth Champion.
LAST CHAMPIONSHIP CONTEST:
In the last championship contest after a Youth Champion reaches the age of 23 years, he is allowed to defend his title against an eligible opponent. If the champion wins he relinquishes his title and title shall be declared vacant . If the champion loses, the challenger becomes the new champion.
SUPERVISOR AND OFFICIALS
The Chairman of the Association shall attend or he shall appoint WBE /USBC/APBA Supervisor s to act in a championship contest is the representative of the Association . His duties are to assist and help the local commission with regard to the handling of the bout , and to make sure that all the championship Rules and Regulations are complied with, including the weigh in and to award the APBA Youth Championship belt. He has full authority to take whatever steps he may consider necessary to safeguard the good reputation of the WBE /USBC/APBA .
YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP RULES :
All the APBA Youth Championships contest will use the standard APBA championship rules for title contest. |
